Visual Communication (BA) - Single Honours Full Time - Course Map

Each module taken by a student has a credit value (measured in Credit Accumulation and Transfer [CAT] points). Approximately 10 hours of total study time is required per CAT credit. A full-time year is equivalent to 120 CATs for students on an Undergraduate course. To achieve an undergraduate award a student must accumulate a particular number of CATs at Level 4, 5 or 6 as illustrated below: Bachelors Degree without Honours: 300 CATs Bachelors Degree with Honours: 360 CATs (or 480 with year-long placement)

To complete your programme you must pass the following compulsory modules:
AD6000: Dissertation: Major Research Project
Restrictions: Available only to undergraduate students studying on courses within the School of Art & Design

AD6003: Communications Theory
Restrictions: Available only to students taking Mass Communication (Single Honours Top Up degree), Media Production (Single Honours Top Up degree), and Visual Communication (Single Honours Top Up degree).

To complete your programme you must pass a minimum of 75 credits from the following:
AD6101: Creative Portfolio
Restrictions: Available only to Advertising students and Visual Communication (Level 6) Students.

AD6401: Self Initiated Design / Portfolio
Restrictions: Available only to Graphic Design students and Visual Communication (Level 6) Students
