Brief Description | This module provides the framework for students to pursue or investigate through activity or study, an area of interest related to their practice. The work is supported through workshops, individual or group tutorials and individual project planning. It will usually be in the form of a desk-based project or essay, though the detail of topic and format will be the subject of negotiation between student, the workplace and the tutor. The project may involve the production of a poster or leaflet, a set of resources, or a training presentation for workplace colleagues, a proposal for a new workplace policy or it may be more conventional in form. The study may enable students to extend their own knowledge of a topic of interest and to present it in a negotiated way. The workshops involve students initiating discussions with students from other disciplines in areas of interest and in reflecting on their own learning as they make recommendations for work based developments or further study. |
