Brief Description |
This module deals with the management of buildings and other resources plus the finances. It also addresses quality, marketing and the management of change. |

- Governance eg management committees, charity law, status, accountability
- Organisational Development theory – mission statements, marketing
- Good practice – Badging – Your Welcome, NYA Quality Mark, QiYWI, standards of care etc.
- Inspection processes
- Action Planning
- Working to targets
- The management of change
- The management of resources
- The management of buildings or outreach services
- The establishment of systems that ensure the embedding of partnership working with young people and equality of opportunity

Learning Outcomes |
i Knowledge and Understanding By the end of the module students should be able to: a) Evaluate organisational goals and mission statements; b) Implement management accountancy;c) Manage buildings or other resources; d) Plan, implement and evaluate the process of change and new policy; e) Critically analyse the process of working to targets, and the quality assurance of practice including that of involving young people and equality of opportunity;
ii. Skills On successful completion of the module the students should be able to: a) Prepare reports and bids; b) Use an ICT package to manage buildings and a budget c) Plan, implement and evaluate a course of action. |

Staff/student contact: 20% (workshops and group tutorials) Student directed learning: 80% (practice based learning experiences, learning sets, student directed learning, assignment preparation) |
