Brief Description | This module is designed to allow the students to explore, analyse and evaluate a number of currently influential models and theories related to the creative process and to relate them their own creative processes. The student will undertake research into the creative process and write a substantial essay based on their research and scholarship in that area. |
Indicative Syllabus | This module is designed to: i) explore, analyse and evaluate a number of currently influential models and theories related to the creative processii) facilitate further research into the creative process leading to a substantial enquiry-based essay |
Learning Outcomes | i. Knowledge and Understanding By the end of the module students should be able to demonstrate that they: a) have a broad understanding of the models and theories related to the creative process b) can apply the theories and models studied to their own creative process c) be able to research independently and grasp the practical demands and disciplines involved in research which is being geared toward dissemination to a wider audience. d) can structure the results of their own studies and research in a substantial and coherent essay ii. Skills On completion of the module students should be able to demonstrate that they: a) can undertake research in a variety of modes geared to the production of theoretical and critical text b) discuss, analyse and evaluate the creative process in the light of theories and models studied c) are familiar with the procedures involved in research for, and dissemination of scholarly texts d) communicate professionally and effectively with through well structured, substantial and coherent academic writing |
