Brief Description The module provides an opportunity for students to analyse the provision of international leisure industries services, and to undertake relevant fieldwork, in an international destination.
Indicative Syllabus This module has been designed to build upon students' knowledge and understanding of theories of service delivery and management in the context of the ‘leisure’ industries (events, hospitality, leisure, tourism) gained from previous Level I and Level II modules. Students have to make a financial contribution to this module, which involves an international residential fieldtrip.
Learning Outcomes

i. Knowledge and Understanding
On completion of this module students should be able to:
a) Analyse the characteristics of the ‘leisure’ industries in a country other than the UK
b) Experience and evaluate differing approaches to ‘leisure’ industries’ service provision within an international destination
c) Analyse cultural influences on management principles and practice related to ‘leisure’ industries’ service provision internationally
d) Undertake fieldwork with due regard for safety and risk assessment.

Learning and Teaching Activities

Taught sessions, visits and fieldwork 60%
Research, independent learning and assessment 40%
