Brief Description This module will provide students with the opportunity to draw together material from discipline-based modules at Level I and II and consider the contemporary nature of professional practice at the point of module delivery. An awareness of current best practice within diverse fields of professional activity and an insight into the policies and research that underpin provision will allow students to debate important issues influencing developments in exercise and health.
Indicative Syllabus This module provides an insight into contemporary practices in exercise and health. The content will be specific to the professional climate at the time of delivery and will focus on the theories, concepts and policies that form the basis of interventions rather than the practicalities of planning and implementation initiatives. The module will provide students with a critical awareness of topical and contentious issues that will be tackled in a provocative and discursive way.
Learning Outcomes

i. Knowledge and understanding
On successful completion of the module the student should be able to:
a) evaluate and critique the relevance of multi-agency collaborations for exercise and health development activities at international, national, regional and local levels;
b) critique the role of the exercise and health professional within multi- and inter-disciplinary working environments;
c) appraise the implications of the contemporary context of exercise and health provision for continuing professional development opportunities.
