Brief Description | This module is important for students with an interest in exercise and health. It will provide the student with a comprehensive understanding of the nature of physical activity promotion within selected groups in society. It will be of particular relevance to students who have an interest in working in physical activity promotion in the future. The module will investigate the inequalities in physical activity participation within selected populations in society. By taking an interdisciplinary approach and focusing on the inter-relationship between the physiological, psychological and sociological factors associated with participation this module will critically examine the reasons for these inequalities. The health implications of these inequalities will also be considered. |
