Brief Description This module critically examines key contemporary issues within sport and exercise psychology. It will tackle pertinent and relevant sport and exercise psychology topics in a provocative and discursive way. Students will be expected to draw on the knowledge and skills they have gained earlier in the course as they debate important issues within sport and exercise psychology.
Indicative Syllabus Key contemporary issues (at the time of module completion) from within the sport and exercise psychology discipline.
Learning Outcomes

i. Knowledge and understanding
On successful completion of the module the student should be able to:
a) show an awareness of the major contemporary issues within sport and exercise psychology;
b) evaluate the implications of these contemporary issues for the future development of sport and exercise psychology, both as an academic subject and as a profession.



ii. Skills
The learning activities associated with this module are intended to develop the following:

Transferable skills:
a) communication and literacy;
b) problem solving.

Subject specific skills:
a) effectively communicate reasoned argument on a range of contemporary issues through various media such as discussion, presentation and debate.
