Brief Description This module develops students' understanding of the processes by which physically active people may become injured by trauma or overuse, or become over-trained. Indicative Syllabus This module will examine the aetiology of injury production from the point of view of: (i) external forces (e.g. hitting, being hit or falling over); and (ii) internal forces (e.g. repetitive strain, incorrect technique and systems failure/over-training), and (iii) socio-psychological issues. An evaluation of preventive measures will be made and issues surrounding rehabilitation will be considered.
