Brief Description | This module will cover physiology as it applies to exercise for health. The study of healthy body systems will provide a basis for further study about exercise prescription and medical conditions. Students will develop laboratory skills for assessment and exercise testing. |
Indicative Syllabus | Emphasis will be placed on the heart and the rest of the circulatory system, ventilation and gas exchange, and neuromuscular function. Laboratory practical sessions will introduce students to laboratory techniques for assessing exercise tolerance in both well and unwell individuals. |
