Brief Description This module is designed to analyse performance sports development in the context of the emerging and current status of performance sport policy and practice in the UK.
Indicative Syllabus This module explores the concept of performance sports development analysing theory, policy and practice based on sports development frameworks (historic, modern and comparative).
Learning Outcomes

i Knowledge and understanding
On successful completion of this module the student should be able to:
a) Critically evaluate the performance sport theory and policy in a variety of contexts;
b) Critically evaluate performance sport regulatory and strategic frameworks including sports performance models’ theory and practice.

The learning activities associated with this module are intended to develop the following:

a) Communication and literacy;
b) Working with others.
