Brief Description This module critically examines key contemporary issues in Sports Development. The focus of this module will vary according to changing issues in sports development praxis. The module is thus of value to those seeking a career in the sports development sector who require a critical understanding of the contemporary context of sports development provision.

Learning Outcomes

i. Knowledge and Understanding
On successful completion of the module the student should be able to:
a) critically evaluate the effect of contemporary issues on sport and society;
b) assess the importance of the issues for their own anticipated career and continuing professional development.

The learning activities associated with this module are intended to develop the following:

b) Communication and literacy;
c) Analysis.
