Brief Description | This module will build on SPS208 by introducing the student to the theories and practice of applied sport psychology. Students will examine the theoretical underpinnings of applied sport psychology interventions and have the opportunity to experience how these interventions might be used to enhance performance. Students will be introduced to the ethics of sport psychology consultancy and to practical issues in the delivery of sport psychology. This module is recommended for students with an interest in how sport psychology interventions may be used to enhance sporting performance. |
Indicative Syllabus | This module will allow students to study and apply key aspects of sport psychology theory. Specifically, students will have the opportunity to examine the: theoretical basis of different approaches to applied sport psychology; and appreciate the impact of differing philosophies and reflection processes, on the consultancy procedure. |
