Brief Description | The module aims to explore critically the environment of sport science provision. Students will be encouraged to experience and reflect upon sport science delivery, and to examine the associated individual and situational factors which impact significantly on the provision of sport science support. As a result, the student will be required to identify develop, and reflect upon the competencies associated with BASES (British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences) supervised experience. |
Indicative Syllabus | The competencies associated with BASES Accreditation and the Supervised Experience process for sport scientists, will determine the content of this module. Thus, the indicative content will include: the theoretical concepts underpinning sport science assessment; implementation and management of appropriate sport science interventions; understanding the role of reflective practice within sport science delivery; building professional relationships with the service user; adapting practice to meet the needs of different user groups; effective communicating skills. |
