Brief Description | This module will focus on the application of physiology to exercise, health and sports performance. Current practice in these areas will be evaluated and the strengths and weaknesses of competing strategies discussed. The module will also consider the validity and reliability of appropriate physiological measurement techniques. |
Indicative Syllabus | It is intended that the following topics will be covered: measurement validity and reliability; applied physiology of exercise and health; applied physiology of sports performance (including power and endurance); designing training programmes for elite athletes; designing training programmes for exercise and health; biochemical underpinning of exercise and sports performance. |
