Brief Description | The module aims to explore critically the environment of sport and exercise science provision. Students will be encouraged to experience and reflect upon sport and exercise science delivery, and to examine the associated individual and situational factors which impact significantly on the provision of sport and exercise science support. As a result, the student will be required to identify develop, and reflect upon the competencies associated with BASES (British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences) supervised experience. |
Indicative Syllabus | The competencies associated with BASES Accreditation and the Supervised Experience process for sport and exercise scientists, will determine the content of this module. Thus, the indicative content will include: the theoretical concepts underpinning sport and exercise science assessment; implementation and management of appropriate sport and exercise science interventions; understanding the role of reflective practice within sport and exercise science delivery; building professional relationships with the service user; adapting practice to meet the needs of different user groups; effective communicating skills. |
