Brief Description | The aim of this module is to investigate how the components of fitness can be tested. The metabolic, cardiovascular and respiratory responses to exercise will be studied through a series of laboratory and field- based workshops. Students will explore current recommendations for screening participants and carrying out standardized fitness tests to evaluate the major components of fitness in order to prescribe appropriate fitness programmes. |
Indicative Syllabus | The indicative content of the module will include: health screening, measurement issues; assessment of body composition and assessment of cardiovascular and respiratory response to exercise. |
