Brief Description | The module aims to explore inter-disciplinary approaches to sport and exercise science. The students will explore the manner in which physiological, psychological and biomechanical theoretical principles can be used in an integrated manner, to understand and enhance the sport and exercise environment. This module will provide an opportunity for students to develop the ability to examine sport and exercise challenges and problems from a critical perspective. It extends the knowledge and skills developed within SP4001, and provide the basis for applied sport and exercise work at Level 6. |
Indicative Syllabus | The module will review critically the core physiological, psychological and biomechanical principles that can be used to assess, understand, explain and enhance sport and exercise science settings. Due to the contemporary nature of this this module, the indicative content will be determined at the time of delivery. However, the module content will enable the student to examine the application of discipline based knowledge within sport and exercise practice, and will increase their awareness of the role of sport and exercise within various health and sport settings. |
