Brief Description | This module will introduce the student to fundamental skills required for designing structured and periodised strength and conditioning programmes and individual strength and conditioning sessions. |
Indicative Syllabus | Students will develop skills in the fundamental application of sports physiology, biomechanics and coaching principles to the assessment of physical preparation for optimal sports performance. Organisational skills in relation to the structuring of periodised macro, meso and microcycles will also be developed. Additionally, issues surrounding health and safety, and the application of sports psychology to strength and conditioning will be examined. |
