Brief Description | This module will introduce students to the basic principles of injury risk, pathology, the healing process and their relevance to a range of common sports injuries. This module will focus on in-depth knowledge of upper and lower limb anatomy and palpation of bony landmarks. The module will consist of both theoretical and practical components, giving students the opportunity to develop a range of practical skills. |
Indicative Syllabus | The indicative content of the module will include: the role of the Sports Therapist; principles and concepts of movement; identification of anatomical landmarks & palpation; risk factors for injury; pathophysiology of soft tissue injuries; physical examination; clinical assessment based on in-depth knowledge of functional anatomy and accurate patient history. |
