Brief Description	The aims of the module are to: a) introduce the concept of reflective practitioner including vocation, formation, identity, artistry and being a professional b) build on the concept for those with previous knowledge and experience c) train students in using strategies and tools to enhance reflective practice d) explore key issues and themes in reflective practice in the context of youth and community, ministerial and other caring profession contexts e) investigate the role of theological reflection in reflective practice
Indicative Syllabus	This course will provide an introduction to the concept of the reflective practitioner to those unfamiliar with the concept but also build on students’ understanding of reflective practice from their own contexts. Students will explore strategies and tools to help them develop as reflective practitioners. Key issues and themes will be analysed and students will be expected to locate themselves personally and professionally with regard to these.
Learning Outcomes	At the end of the module, students will be able to: Knowledge and Understanding a) be aware of and critically analyse theories of reflective practice b) understand and apply the concept of reflective practitioner to their own context c) develop insight into key themes and issues in reflective practice for their context Disciplinary / Professional Skills d) use a range of strategies and tools to enhance reflective practice e) identify and apply appropriate approaches to theological reflection as part of reflective practice f) develop an appropriate model of reflective practice for their own situation Transferable Skills g) Apply the principles of Reflective Practice in a variety of contexts
