Brief Description | This module will introduce advanced classic social psychological theory and more modern social cognitive psychological theory relating to stereotypes and stereotyping. Theories will be applied to relevant social issues and current world events. |

Learning Outcomes | Knowledge
At the end of the module, students should be able to
• Demonstrate an knowledge of the development from classical stereotype literature to more modern social cognitive theorizing
• Demonstrate a knowledge of issues surrounding the content and accuracy of stereotypes
• Demonstrate knowledge of issues surrounding stereotype formation, activation, application, regulation and change.
• Demonstrate a knowledge of future directions in stereotype research and theories
