Brief Description | Building on knowledge gained at Level 4, this module further develops the knowledge of statistical, experimental and qualitative techniques necessary for carrying out a psychology investigation at level 6 |
Indicative Syllabus | Topics to be covered by this module include: - Quantitative and qualitative approaches; their relative strengths and weaknesses and primary applications. Quantitative approaches will include parametric tests up to, and including, ANOVA and standard multiple regression. Qualitative approaches will include exploration of a broad range of approaches, which may include but is not limited to observational techniques, textual analysis e.g. thematic and discourse analysis and the Action Research Cycle. |
