Brief Description | Through an exploration of classical and contemporary accounts of 'identity', this module offers an introduction to race/ethnicity, masculinity/femininity, social class, body image, youth/age, sexualities, work roles, family roles. The module is intended to extend students' appreciation of the scope and relevance of sociology, by offering introductions to themes and topics such as gender and class, which will be explored in greater depth at levels 5 and 6 of the sociology course. |
