Brief Description | The module is concerned with the key components of mental health care in the community and will focus on knowledge, skills and competencies required in day to day mental health work. In particular this module is provided in recognition of the diversity of the mental health workforce and the culture of involving service users and carers in influencing and improving mental health services. This module is mapped to the National Occupational Standards. |

Skills On successful completion of the module the student should be able to: a) Communicate with service users and carers in way that promotes rights and choice in the context of law; b) Construct arguments to support the rights of people with mental health problems; c) Communicate in writing in accordance with agency policy and law; d) Reflect on practice. |
