Brief Description | This module builds upon the skills and knowledge gained in level I, to help students develop a greater theoretical understanding of production principles. Different theoretical frameworks will be examined and then used in response to a practical assignment. |
Indicative Syllabus | This module provides students with a greater theoretical understanding of directing, lighting, cinematography, soundtrack design and editing, in order that it can better inform their practice. Theoretical approaches will cover all aspects of the production process with students presenting their findings via both written and practical work. For the practical element students will form groups of subject specialists, i.e. cinematographers, sound designers, editors, etc. in order that they can collaborate and share ideas within their own chosen specialism. |
