Indicative Syllabus

The aim of this module is to offer in depth research opportunities of the media and creative industries by increasing the emphasis upon the intersection of the local, transnational, international and global dimensions.

During the module we will focus upon media examples as case studies to interrogate and analyse creativity, marketing, distribution, finances, production culture, industrial reflexivity, audience engagement, copyright and online culture. Students will have the opportunity to engage in ‘real world’ activities.

Key to this is to develop understanding of the most productive methodologies for researching the media and creative industries so as to be prepared for primary research work at Level 6, which centres on industrial reflexive analysis, creativity and entrepreneurship.
