Brief Description | This module enables the students to build on knowledge and experience gained in the level 4 module, working individually to develop and record a marketable product with a band, "artist" or film maker. The students will create a marketing package for this product and organise the recording and editing of a live performance by the band, artist, or film-maker. |
Indicative Syllabus | Students will be encouraged to further develop the theoretical and practical management skills in key areas of music and video production and recording, that they were introduced to in level 4 modules. Industry areas covered include: sound and video production, studio management and organisation, events and events management, promotional skills and artist management |
Learning Outcomes | A student passing this module should be able to … 1. Demonstrate understanding of the management of crew roles and responsibilities 2. Devise and evaluate a high quality music/media product. 3. Critically asses an individual/band/artist/group in order to produce a product to help them progress within the world of music/media. 4. Critically evaluate the product. 5. Develop and manage a music/video project from conception through to completion and potential distribution. 6. Demonstrate an ability to work with clients professionally and on time. |
