Brief Description

Essential for those wishing to take MCC323 Radio Production. The module will further explore the techniques used in producing radio packages. Practical work will focus on developing radio pieces to fit specific styles and conventions and concentrate on communicating ideas through radio and sound.

Indicative Syllabus

During the module students will work in small teams to devise, research and produce radio packages to a specific brief. It will consolidate and extend those skills developed acquired during level I.

Learning Outcomes

i. Knowledge
On completion of the module students should be able to demonstrate that they can:
a) Understand and apply technical terminology related to radio production
b) Evidence and apply a sophisticated understanding of the production process, its management and roles within it.



ii. Skills
On completion of the module students should be able to demonstrate that they can:
a) Prepare a range of written materials including running orders and scripts
b) Plan and produce radio features using an appropriate range of acoustic elements
c) Competently perform editing, mixing and sound processing
