Brief Description The dynamic nature of the political and social contexts, within which leisure, tourism and sports services are provided, constitutes a challenge for those involved in the provision of such activities. An understanding of the impact and implications of political and policy issues, which frame managerial activities within the public, commercial and voluntary sectors, is thus of value to those entering these industries. This module explores the continually changing environment which directly impacts upon the provision of leisure, tourism and sports services and their place within UK communities.
Indicative Syllabus The module explores the current involvement of the public, commercial and voluntary sectors in the provision of leisur, tourism and sports services. It examines the frameworks created by institutions within and beyond the UK.
