Brief Description | This module will provide the opportunity for leaders and managers in play services to enhance their understanding and skills in developing play provision. Students will critically examine their role in developing and supporting play provision and associated professional practice in the wider context of policy and provision for children's services. The module will support students in acquiring and applying techniques of analysis and enquiry to complex structures and processes and develop an appreciation of leadership and management concepts, strategies and skills to support play sector practitioners in cross-professional services. |
Indicative Syllabus | The module will cover: the policy context for cross-professional working in Integrated Services; a critical appraisal of concepts and models of multi- agency and integrated working, models of leadership and management; advocacy for children’s right to play; an appraisal of leadership and management skills for supporting professional practice in integrated working; common systems, frameworks and processes to support integrated working; a critical examination of tensions and issues in cross-professional working; leading and managing in a learning organisation; performance management to support professional development; managing change. |
