Brief Description

The hotel and resort sector is a dynamic and changing industry which is influenced greatly by external factors, this module will allow students to analyse critical issues through discussion and debate.

Indicative Syllabus

Content is negotiated with the cohort and is expected to encompass aspects of contemporary operations, management, marketing and sustainability in the hospitality and resort sectors.

Learning Outcomes
  1. Identify and critically evaluate contemporary issues within hotel and resort management.
  2. Critically evaluate the significance of socio political processes upon the hotel and resort sector.
  3. Understand and analyse the multi-disciplinarity of a hotel and resort manager.
