Brief Description | This module will be of particular relevance to students who have responsibility for the day-to-day management and support of practitionerswho are involved in developing play provision. It will consider approaches to managing and supporting professional practice in making provision for children’s play by drawing on concepts, approaches and methods that align management practice with the key features of children’s play. |
Indicative Syllabus | The module will pay particular attention to developing and implementing management approaches that support practitioners in creating and maintaining attractive play spaces. The module will enable students to undertake a detailed analysis of their current organisational practices against key perspectives and principles and highlight areas for further development and change.The module involves analysis and application of the following key areas:scientific and organic approaches to management; management in a complex and uncertain environment; developing a resilient play organisation; developing structures to support improvisational practices; managing play provision as a learning organisation; methods to support and enhance professional practice. |
