Brief Description

In this module students will study the multi-faceted genre of musical theatre and a range of performance and analytical skills that are applied in a creative context.

Indicative Syllabus

Students will develop their skills in acting, dancing and singing alongside analysis of musicals and research into their historical and social contexts.

Learning Outcomes

A student passing this module should be able to:

  1. Engage with the creation and production of performance through a developing understanding of appropriate performance vocabularies, techniques, structures and working methods.
  2. Work responsibly with practitioners and other students.
  3. Understand the theory and practice of the audience-performer relationship.
  4. Communicate effectively with a wide range of people and in a variety of formats.
