Brief Description

In this module students will explore and translate ideas to create innovative choreography, building a basic understanding of compositional skills.

Indicative Syllabus

Exploratory workshops will enable students to identify a wide range of choreographic skills, combining theory with dance technique. They willdevelop their own soundscapes and choreography

Learning Outcomes

A student passing this module should be able to:

  1. Engage intelligently with the choreographic process from conception to realisation.
  2. Research, devise and collaborate to create innovative movement.
  3. Engage creatively and critically with the creation and production of dance work through a developing and sensitive understanding of appropriate choreographic vocabularies, techniques, structures and working methods.
  4. Demonstrate an understanding of correct dance technique.
