Brief Description | In this module students will study the major developments in the history of theatre from the ancient Greeks to the twentieth century. |
Indicative Syllabus | This module examines the beginnings of theatre with Greek tragedy and comedy, its development through the Elizabethan and Restoration periods, social and cultural influences on theatre and the impact these have had on modern theatre through lectures and practical experience of the genres. Students will choose a theatre practitioner and willresearch and develop a presentation on them. |
