Brief Description

In this module students will study the physiology of the voice alongside developing vocal techniques for speaking and singing.

Indicative Syllabus

Students will study how various parts of the body combine to create vocal sounds.  They will also have group sessions to develop their spoken voices and will start to explore singing techniques, with an initial focus on choral singing.

Learning Outcomes

A student passing this module should be able to:

  1. Demonstrate sound vocal technique
  2.  Understand the way in which the voice is produced and modified.
  3. Explain the role muscular, cardiovascular and respiratory systems have on performance
