Brief Description

The module will introduce students to a range of practical skills and attributes that an event manager will need to be able to accomplish their tasks effectively.

Indicative Syllabus

The module will be delivered around key themes, addressing the range of operational skills required for events managers, for example: professionalism, logistics and event design.

Learning Outcomes

A student passing this module should be able to:

  1. Identify the range of operational skills that an event manager needs to be able to utilise;
  2. Demonstrate an understanding of the relationship between event operations and the event experience;
  3. Understand the operational constraints under which event managers are engaged; and
  4. Demonstrate a range of key skills that are required in an operational event environment including: communication and literacy; problem solving; and independent learning and working.
