Brief Description | A module which links the idea and practice of fine art with the idea and practice of landscape design, that is ‘landscape as art’. The module seeks to link site based landscape design with theory and precedent and individual self expression. |
Indicative Syllabus | The module investigates the relationship between ideas of place and the ways that landforms and landscapes can be developed as art. This will be explored through case studies and critical evaluations of the bodies of work of designers and artists. It requires students to engage with the history of landscape design and of landscape as a host for site and land art; as well as the associated theory, approaches and key exponents of the subject area. |
