Brief Description

This module will provide opportunities for students to engage in a project to culminate in a final event and/or product. Students will work collaboratively with a team made up of students from other areas of the University to write, promote, produce and perform creative work, plan publicity and provide a public event.

Indicative Syllabus

This module will be overseen by members of staff in a number of subject areas. Students will negotiate the parameters of the project with staff and work across both creative and professional contexts, to produce an end-product or performance that meets the requirements of the agreed project. Attention will be focussed on formulating, planning, writing, producing, managing, promoting and performing/presenting a finished product or range of products to an audience or public constituency. The students will be expected to take roles in the production and mediation process and work to tight deadlines through the year to ensure timely and successful completion of the project. Students will work individually in designated roles and in a wider project group. The nature of the artefact(s) produced will be negotiated in the project groups and students will need to justify their proposal to tutors. The role of all intermediaries and ‘customers’ will need to be appropriately considered throughout.
