Brief Description | This module introduces students to Russian history through an examination of the economic and social impact of industrialisation, the growth of the revolutionary movements and an historiographical analysis of the revolutions. |

Learning Outcomes | By the end of the module, students should be able to demonstrate: a) a knowledge of the chronology of Russian history in the period 1861 - 1921; b) a familiarity with the historiographical debates central to an understanding of the Russian revolutions; c) an awareness of the complexity of interactions between economic growth and social change.
