Brief Description | This module aims to enable the student to apply their dramatic writing skills practically to a research and writing project in the local community. This writing project may be commissioned and funded in advance then devised, planned and co-authored by students. |
Indicative Syllabus | This module will run weekly two hour seminars. Each week the student will collaborate with other students on the module to research, write and take to production a piece of theatre suitable for presentation to the local community. |
Learning Outcomes | A student passing this module should be able to 1.apply dramatic writing conventions to a commissioned piece of theatre. 2.work effectively in a team of writers. 3.articulate and respond to the demands of the local community. 4.develop and deploy skills in re-writing in response to advice from professionals, readers and theatres. 5.undertake research in an efficient and orderly way. 6.assimilate findings and deploy them coherently in a creative work. |
