Brief Description This module enables students to demonstrate their ability to undertake an individual investigative assignment with direct relevance to their professional practice. The module forms the culmination of the degree programmes for joint students, and may be developed from all or any of the previous modules.
Indicative Syllabus Research methodology and content that depends upon the students choice of topic
Learning Outcomes i. Knowledge and Understanding

On successful completion of the module the students should be able to:
a) Critically evaluate published research;
b) Critically analyse ethical issues relating to research activity;
c) Critically review current practice in the light of their investigation;



ii. Skills

On successful completion of the module the students should be able to:
a) Systematically review of research within an area of interest;
b) Conduct independent investigation.

Learning and Teaching Activities Staff student contact circa 10% (to include: workshops and individual tutorials)
Student directed study circa 90% (to include information search and assignment preparation)
Assessment (For further details see the Module Guide) 001: 90% Coursework: Standard: 8000 words or equivalent
002: 10% Coursework: Standard: 500 words or equivalent
