Brief Description | Building on the foundations of typography explored in Typography ideas at level one. This module aims to deliver a more in-depth analysis of how typography is utilised in the context of bodies of information. Students will explore the relationship between the written word and the use of typography in order to understand the use of language and the communication of messages. |
Indicative Syllabus | The module aims to analyse and explore the principles of typography. Students will be required to research, collect and present a wide range of existing typographic material for evaluation throughout the module. This module will commence with an introduction exploring the principles of typography and will examine the relationship between the text and the designer. It will also explore the management of complex information in a typographic context. Students are encouraged to challenge typographic conventions. |
