Brief Description |
The aim of this module is to allow students to experience a real-world professional placement in an area of fine art/photographic practice of their choosing and to encourage students to establish a personal working methodology that will inform their interests, the themes of their work, their approach, style and foster confidence in their abilities as an artist. |
Indicative Syllabus |
This module is a series of contextual studies seminars which will explore and negotiate how theory and contemporary photographic art practice overlap. Students will write two essays that will contexualise and conceptualise their emerging practice and understanding of the wider approaches to photography in a fine art context. The placement summary will chart student’s ‘professional’ learning and development. Students will also learn about the process of constructing a cogent written argument, critical discussions, key study skills, and contextual research. |
