Brief Description | This module examines the short film with respect to its principal forms, contexts of production, and its main distribution and exhibition platforms. |
Indicative Syllabus | Students will have the opportunity to critically investigate the short film in its different forms as live action narrative, documentary and animated short as well as understand its particular contexts of production, distribution, and exhibition. Specific short films will be studied with respect to the status within the short film canon. Consideration will be placed upon the context of short film production within the age of the internet, with respect to video sharing websites, such as YouTube, and short film festival sites, such as Independent Lens. |
