Brief Description | This module provides the student with the opportunity to consolidate and complement their academic learning with vocational experience in the leisure industries. The placement provides supervised work experience in an organisation within a sector, as appropriate to the student’s single honours or joint fields of study. |
Indicative Syllabus | 48 week minimum period of work experience relevant to the student's field of study. Learning driven by practical experience in the work place. Progress and development assessed against an agreed framework of objectives. |

Learning and Teaching Activities | Formal tutorials, briefings and debriefings take place at the University prior to, during and after the placement period. Whilst on placement, learning will be guided by individual training programmes, a series of learning agreements and action plans. Guidance will be provided by mentors in the placement organisation, visiting tutors from the Department of Leisure, Tourism and Hospitality and the placement office staff. |
