Brief Description | The aim of this module is to enable the student to undertake a small scale work based research project on a topic of special interest, chosen from within their field of study. This module enables students to demonstrate their ability to undertake an individual investigative assignment with direct relevance to their professional practice. The module forms the culmination to the field of study, and may be developed from any or all of the previous modules. |
Indicative Syllabus | In this module, students undertake research into a topic of their own professional interest, which addresses issues in the field of study. The module is project based, applying theories and principles integrated from modules studied on the programme. It is expected that, by doing so, students will consolidate and extend knowledge, strengthen their intellectual, professional and key skills and develop their understanding of issues studied throughout the field of study. The research project will be negotiated collaboratively by the student, university tutor and employer. |
Learning Outcomes | i. Knowledge and Understanding By the end of the module students should be able to: 1. Demonstrate research and investigative skills; 2. Analyse in depth a topic relevant to the student’s field; 3. Demonstrate the ability to select, understand, analyse and evaluate information on a chosen topic; 4.
