The module aims to develop students¿ knowledge, understanding and skills to promote the effective teaching of ICT

Indicative Syllabus Students will be introduced to a range of software and hardware commonly used in schools. They will explore how software and hardware can be used to support and assess core and non-core subjects in the primary and special school, and how ICT can be used to promote inclusion.
Learning Outcomes i. Knowledge and Understanding
By the end of the module students should be able to:
1. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the types of software and hardware commonly used in primary and special schools;
2. Demonstrate knowledge of the EYFS principles and National Curriculum requirements for ICT;
3. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of how ICT may be used in a differentiated manner to promote inclusion.

ii. Skills
By the end of the module students should have developed skills in:
1. Supporting teachers in the planning for ICT as a curricular area and as a cross-curricular tool for learning;
2. Using the internet to support learning;
3. Implementing the planned curriculum in a way that will enhance each child’s learning in and through ICT;
4. Monitoring, assessing and recording children’s progress in and through ICT.
