Brief Description | This module aims to support students in undertaking a detailed analysis of the role of the Early Years Professional. |
Indicative Syllabus | The transformation of the early years workforce has seen the development of new standards for graduates working in a leading and supporting role within the private, voluntary and independent sector. This module examines and analyses these standards, investigating the research behind the rationale for improving practice and outcomes for children. Students will undertake activities to reflect upon and critically analyse their skills in leading and supporting others, and working with children between 0-5. The module content will cover: critical analysis of, and application of, legislative frameworks, effective practice with 0-5, relationships with children, communicating and working in partnership with families, teamwork and collaboration, and personal professional development. Students will examine in detail the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). |
